Dentures

Dentures are nothing to be afraid of!
Dr. Park loves to make comfortable and beautiful dentures that fit well and allow you to eat well for your good health. She works closely with an experienced lab that she has used for years. You may choose to have a regular set of dentures, or have implant retained overdentures that feel very much like your own teeth. But either way, they’ll be sure to make you smile with confidence.

When is it time to consider dentures?
Your Flint dentist will recommend dentures if you are experiencing excessive tooth decay or have several teeth missing, especially since these conditions can lead to bone loss around the roots of your teeth. When the time comes to discuss dentures, this can be a stressful situation. However, it is important to speak openly and honestly with your dentist so you have all the information you need. Once you have come to the agreement that dentures are necessary, you need to discuss which type of dentures will be right for you.

Getting fitted is easy
Dentures come in different types, but they all provide your mouth with the structure it needs to support the remaining teeth – this is the primary purpose of dentures.

Getting fitted for dentures is a simple process. Your dentist may determine that some teeth need to be removed after a thorough examination. These loose teeth will be extracted under anesthesia. Your dentures will be fitted to go over or around the remaining teeth.

Obviously there will be a period of adjustment to your new dentures, but we assure you that with some practice, time and patience, they will begin to feel completely normal. Once you have become acclimated to the dentures, you will regain all the normal functionality and appearance of natural teeth and will be able to eat and talk as you did before.
